Looking Ahead to Quilt Canada

It’s that time of year again—Quilt Canada is just around the corner, and my studio has been a flurry of fabric scraps, thread, class lists, and piles of stuff everywhere. Preparing for an event like this is always a mix of excitement and focused energy. There are kits to assemble, new samples to finish, tools to gather, and of course, lists (so many lists!) to double-check.

As I fold fabric, label bags, and thread needles for demonstrations, I find myself thinking about the students I’ll be meeting. Some of you I may have met before, others will be new faces. Either way, I can’t wait to share the room with fellow makers—each of us bringing our own stories, styles, and stitching hands.

If you’re signed up for one of my classes: hello in advance! I’ve prepared some new samples I’m really excited to show you. The kits are ready and full of bits and pieces that I hope will spark your imagination. Bring your curiosity, your questions, and yes—those scraps you’ve been saving for “someday.” This might just be the week they find their home.

One unexpected delight during all this preparation: while creating a sample for one of my classes, I had an idea for a brand new workshop. The piece took on a life of its own, and by the time I finished it, I knew I wanted to explore the idea further—and share it with others. So stay tuned… something new is coming this fall. (A teaser … work in progress).

There’s still more to do before I board the plane to Toronto, but I’m getting there – one kit, one sample, one stitch at a time. I am looking forward to a creative and connected week at Quilt Canada.

Thanks for reading. Until I write again, keep smiling …

Ana

PS: There is still time to purchase my thread collections with Wonderfil.
