New Workshop dates for January to March
Good afternoon. My apologies for being a bit late with this post. Busy morning. At least it’s warmer today in Calgary. The Chinook arch can be seen across the sky and the temperature is a balmy 5 degrees Celsius. After a few weeks of freezing temperatures and extreme weather warnings, it feels positively warm!
I have set up dates for workshops for January, February and March. Here’s what’s coming up:
Rocks, Pebbles & Stones, Oh My!
On Friday, January 21st at 9:00 a.m. Mountain time. This is the perfect workshop to relax with: no sewing machines needed. I will show you how to make 3-D rocks and two different techniques to add them to your work. Let me tell you … these are addictive!
I offer an optional kit, and you still have time to order it to reach you in time for the workshop. Below are a few examples of my work where I’ve used the rocks, This is the link if you’d like to register for the 3-hour workshop.
I am teaching at Quiltfest Virtual Schoolhouse
There is still room in my classes for the Quiltfest Virtual Schoolhouse at the end of January. I am offering three workshops:
Text on Textiles – adding words to your work
Wednesday, January 26th at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. It is a 6-hour workshop.
Introduction to Transfer Artist Paper
Thursday, January 7th at 10:00 a.m. Eastern – this is a 3-hour class.
Monoprinting in Layers
Saturday, January 29th at 12:00 p.m. Eastern. It is a 6-hour workshop.
Then on to February, we have the following:
Paintstiks on Fabric
It is a 3-hour workshop taking place on Thursday, February 17th at 9:00 a.m. Mountain. In this class, you will learn how to make your own rubbing plates, and then use them on fabric with Paintstiks. It’s a great way to create some unique one-of-a-kind fabrics to use as standalone or in your work.
And here some examples:
And for March, we have the following classes:
Make your quilts sing with digital imagery – Editing photos in PowerPoint
March 10th at 10:00 a.m. Mountain.
This is a 2-hour demo workshop where I share my screen and show you how to edit photos in PowerPoint simply: remove backgrounds, change colours, adjust saturation, turn into black and white and all about layering. I hope you’ll be able to join me.
NEW!! From Sketch to Stitch with Inktense Pencils
This is a new online virtual 3-hour workshop scheduled for Thursday, March 17th at 9:00 a.m. Mountain.
Using a design as a starting point, It will be free-motion quilted and then painted using Inktense Pencils. Different techniques will be demonstrated.
If, once again, I lost you at “free-motion”, read what I wrote above, as it still applies. :)
Sophisticated Monoprinting with Stencils and Masks
This is a 3-hour workshop. It will take place on Tuesday, March 22nd, at 9:00 a.m. Mountain. You will learn how to use Stencils and Masks combined with a gelli plate and paint to create unique works. I love the simplicity of these designs, as you can use any shape you’d like.
There you have it! A whole array of workshops to choose from. I hope you’ll find one, two or a few that intrigue you. I look forward to seeing you there.
Drop me a note if you have any questions. I’ll be happy to help. Have a great week!
Thanks, once again, for reading. Keep creating!
Ana
Hi. Thanks for posting your classes. Most of the links for classes are not working for me. I thought you would want to know.
Hi Marcia,
Are you looking at the links on this post? this is an old post and the classes are well past. They were from January to March 2022. The new classes posted are under the Online Courses tab in my website. What you see there is what’s live at this time for October 2022. I hope this helps.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Best regards,
Ana
