Good afternoon, I am a bit behind in blogging, and I apologize. I’ve been very busy lately with workshops out-of-town and getting ready for deadlines and such. I was in Victoria mid-June and had a great time teaching two workshops at Quilting in the Trees at Pearson College, organized by the Victoria Quilters Guild. And…
I wanted to share with you some photos from the second Fabric Painting Workshop I offered. The ladies did a great job with the apple. Below are some of the photos. Enjoy: This is Kathleen’s apple. The one closest is a color copy of mine they get to use as a guide for placement. Working on…
I just wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Mother’s Day. I hope everybody spent the day with loved ones. I spent the day with my 3 children. My youngest was in charge of dinner; he made the most amazing meal: shrimp bisque, stuffed chicken with portobello mushrooms, shallots and foie gras. Below is the…
Good morning, Unfortunately, I found out last week that the Fabric Painting Workshop at Heritage Park has been cancelled due to poor registration. I was very saddened and disappointed by the news, but … If you were one of the people who did register for the class and would be interested in taking it in…

Thanks Ceci for the article in your blog (Patchwork y Cia), which I’m going to share here. This is the story of one Joanna Rose, who’s been acquiring red and white quilts since the 50’s. It turns out that Mrs. Rose has never seen them all at once. From Friday to Wednesday March 30, all…
Good afternoon, On a snowy day here in Calgary, again … we’ve had snow almost every day of the week, everything is white and the snow keeps piling up, despite the fact that Spring has arrived! I worked on a fabric bowl today, which I had never made before, despite that I’ve seen dozens of…

Yesterday I received my rejection letter from CQA for my quilt “The Blue Door”. I was excited to see that the letter included the Juror’s comments, but baffled because they shed no light on why the quilt was rejected. In the next few minutes I went though the feelings a rejection letter brings out: first…

Here, as promised, are some photos of Chagrin Falls, OH where we went after the taping was done. Unfortunately we arrived when all the stores were closed. Or maybe that was a good thing … Valentine’s Day was the day before, so all the store windows were decorated in red and had some kind of heart…
Happy Belated Valentine’s to everyone. I was on a plane on my way to Cleveland that morning, where I spent a day taping three segments for Quilting Arts TV Season 800 to be aired in PBS (KSPS Channel 14 here in Calgary and surrounding areas) at the end of June. My friend Marcela, from Houston,…
