An invitation to sit with me …

It’s been a good week. Lots of work done: computer work, cleaning, filing, writing, and creating work. And then, spending some time by myself at night, simply contemplating.

The world can be a chaotic and overwhelming place. Everywhere we turn, there’s a new crisis or challenge to face. It’s easy to get caught up in the stress and busyness of it all, and forget to take a moment to simply be present.

That’s why the invitation to “come sit with me” is so powerful. I’m inviting you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of our lives and spend a few moments in quiet contemplation. Find a comfortable spot, close your eyes, and simply be still.

At first, it might feel awkward or uncomfortable to sit in silence. We’re so used to filling every moment with activity or distraction that the idea of just being with our thoughts can be daunting. But if we allow ourselves to relax into the stillness, something amazing happens. We begin to notice things we might have overlooked before – the sound of birds chirping outside, the feeling of our breath moving in and out of our body, the sensation of the ground beneath us.

As we become more attuned to our surroundings, we also become more attuned to ourselves. We might notice emotions or thoughts that we’ve been pushing aside in the flurry of our lives. We might gain new insights or perspectives on problems that have been weighing us down. And even if we don’t have any profound revelations, the act of taking a few moments to simply be present can be incredibly grounding and refreshing.

Of course, the idea of sitting in stillness isn’t a new one. Meditation and mindfulness practices have been around for centuries, and for good reason. The benefits of taking a break from the chaos of our lives and simply being present are numerous – from reducing stress and anxiety to improving focus and clarity of thought.

But what I love about the invitation to come sit with me is that it is a reminder that we don’t have to go through this world alone. Sometimes, all we need is a little nudge to help us slow down and connect with ourselves and others. And who knows – maybe by accepting my invitation and sitting in stillness, we’ll find a sense of peace and connection that we didn’t even know we were missing.

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out, I encourage you to take my invitation and come sit with me (figuratively, of course!). Find a quiet spot, close your eyes, and allow yourself to simply be present. Who knows what insights or revelations might come from a few moments of stillness?

I’m off to sit with me. And dream of the possibilities that a new day brings. Thanks for reading. Until I write again, keep creating,

Ana
