February Classes have been scheduled

NEW WORKSHOPS

Hello, and happy week to all. I hope it’s a great one. Plans? Projects? UFO’s to get finished? I hope that whatever you decide to work on, you have a grand time doing it. Personally, I have a video to finish, another to get started, and three pieces (well, not really) – a loooot of pieces – staring at me waiting for finishing touches, or inspiration to strike. Even some waiting to get started. I am so looking forward to what the next few months will bring.

I have scheduled classes for February. Some that I haven’t taught in a while, so I’m excited. I tried to have variety: some printing, some image transfer, some hand-work … Shall I tell you all about them?

First: Sophisticated Monoprinting. A version on monoprinting where you will work with masks and stencils to print shapes and create unique designs. I have worked with rock shapes to create a series of work called “Stones Unturned”. This class is 3 hours long. Fun and relaxed, with fewer supplies than the Monoprinting in Layers class. February 13th at 9:00 a.m. Mountain.

Next is Introduction to TAP – Transfer Artist Paper on Tuesday February 21st at 9:00 am. This is a 2-hour class where you will learn how to use this wonderful paper to transfer images onto fabric. Loads of fun. Loads of possibilities. I offer a kit with pre-printed images for your use. Check it out here.

Another technique I really like to use in my work is Acrylic Skins. They are simple to create, offer lots of possibilities, and a different way to add an image to your work. This class is 2-hours long and it is part hands-on and part demo. I will teach you how to create Acrylic Skins and then show you how to finish them and use them in your work. It will take place on Monday, February 27th at 9:00 a.m. Mountain.

And the last workshop I have scheduled is Embellished Rocks. I taught this workshop a week ago but some people missed it, so I offered to do a make-up class. In case you wanted to take it but couldn’t, here’s another opportunity. It is 3 hours long and will take place on Tuesday, February 28th at 9:00 a.m. Mountain. You will find a kit in the store with everything you need to get started. Check it out here.

Anything else you’d like to see listed? Leave me a comment below and I will consider it. Also, a reminder that I need 5-6 people to run a class, so get some friends together and I can run a class for your group.

In the meantime, I hope you’ll join me for some of these classes. Have a wonderful week. And until I write again, keep creating,

Ana

  1. Good morning Ana,
Any chance that your classes will be recorded so I can purchase and watch at another time or if you can make these available as a CD?
    Love your work!

    1. Hi Martha,
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, at this time, classes are live online and not recorded. But it’s on my list of things to do this year – to have on demand classes. If only I could find some spare time :)
I am so happy to hear that you love my work. Thanks for saying that as it means the world to me.
I hope you’ll be able to attend one of the classes maybe?
Take good care and have a wonderful week,
      Ana

  2. Hi Ana, I have signed up for 2 of your February classes. Acrylic Skins and TAPS. Will you be sending out a supply list – mainly for the Acrylic Skins class?
I took a couple of classes from you several years ago at the Quilt Show in Houston. Throughly enjoyed them and am looking forward to these classes also.
    Thank you,
    Lorna

    1. Hi Lorna,

I have resent the supply lists this morning – they had been sent on January 30th. Not sure why you don’t have them. Please let me know that you have them? Thanks.
I look forward to having you in class.
      All the best,
      Ana
