The weather outside …

paper collage with pink roses

I woke up this morning with this song playing in a loop in my head:

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
Since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow … It doesn’t show signs of stoppin’

Winter has arrived with a vengeance, to remind us that it’s in control :) The other side of the coin is that it’s beautiful outside. It’s early morning and everything is quiet. Snow falls copiously and silently, making us want to stay inside, cozy and warm. Unfortunately, duty calls and I’ll have to head out in a few hours. I’m planning on enjoying the view of the city blanketed in snow.

Lots happening this week around the studio: videos being recorded, articles being written, and kits being put together for classes coming up. On Saturday I wrote a short blog inviting you to watch the segments I taped for The Quilt Show. You can access it free by signing up for the 7-day Free Trial. There’s even a trailer you can watch! And yes, I did watch it. For the longest time, I had a difficult time watching myself. But I did watch it and have to say that I am happy with how it turned out, considering we shot it all at once and did not have to do any retakes. It brought back wonderful memories. I hope you enjoy the content and the pieces shown. Let me know what you think.

On another note, Christmas has arrived at the Leighton Art Centre as they opened the Festive Foothills Art Sale on Saturday with in person shopping. If you live in the area, I invite you to go visit as it’s a veritable winter wonderland! Located in Millarville, the gallery is an inviting place with lots of different artists represented in painting, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, and so much more. It’s a fantastic place to do your shopping. Five of my pieces are on display and for sale, and fingers crossed they’ll find a new home.

It’s interesting to see them all together hanging on a wall as I usually see them all scattered about or against the wall in the spare bedroom. And I look at them and see my love of circles shining through! I was thinking what a great job they do in hanging all the artwork so it looks cohesive. I will plan a trip there before the show’s over on December 21st. And if you can’t go, remember that online shopping opens on November 10th until December 21st. And yes, they do ship worldwide. Check it out!

While visions of sugar-plums dance in my head, I will continue with my day. In case you are wondering why all the Christmas allusions, other than the fact that everything is Christmas in the stores, it’s because I’ve been watching Christmas movies, and the more you watch, the more the songs stick! Anyway … off I go to drive about and do stuff.

I wish you all a wonderful week full of fairies dancing in your heads and snowflakes falling from the sky. Until I write again, stay warm, safe and creative,

Ana

PS: Registration for Create2Flourish will open on November 21st and will remain open for a few days. Don’t miss it! I’ll have a couple of great bonuses for signing up within the first 24 hours. Stay tuned
