Virtual Schoolhouse #9 this week
As I write this, I’m watching a black squirrel running back and forth on the fence. It seems to be having a grand time. Up the bare tree it goes, only to come down and jump on the fence and start all over again. It looks like a very healthy squirrel, bushy tail and shiny coat. I guess it’s getting ready for winter, gathering supplies and stuff.
That’s what I’m doing in the next few days, gathering supplies. Not to go through winter, mind you, but for classes. I am teaching at Virtual Schoolhouse #9 this week and there’s time to join. I will be teaching two classes: Monoprinting – from basics to sophistication on Wednesday November 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Text on Sheers – a fun new class on Thursday, November 7th from 10:00 am. to 1:00 p.m. All Eastern times. Click on the link for more information.
Both classes are fun and require few supplies. If you have a gelli plate that you are wanting to use, some paints and some fabric, you are almost set! You will also need some supplies to make stamps that we will be using on the gelli plate. For the second class, you will need freezer paper, permanent markers, sheer fabric and some gel medium.
There’s still time to register. Join me? We are going to have fun!
I am off to Portugal next week, so preparations are ongoing for that too. I am looking forward to visiting some of my favourite places again and eating sardines for breakfast (they are good for you – lots of calcium). I’ll share photos on Instagram and Facebook and maybe, if the time difference allows, I’ll share some live stuff. There’s one site I’m really wanting to visit, as I’ve never been, in Évora – it’s called Ruínas Fingidas or Fake Ruins. It is a building projected by José Cinatti utilizing architectural materials found all over Évora. And it seems there are peacocks all over the place! They are found in the Jardim Público or Public Garden. For someone like me who loves ruins and old buildings … right up my alley. Stay tuned … only about 15 minutes walk from the hotel :).
I hope to see you in class. Thanks for reading. I’m off to do some stuff. Until I write again, stay happy,
Ana
Hi Ana! Have an excellent trip! Enjoy the sites and share your photos, especially of the ruins and peacocks!
Thank you so much!
