Two new classes coming up

Good afternoon everyone from a cloudy and cool Calgary. A short one today to let you know that I have two new classes scheduled for the month of June.

The first one is “Monoprinting: from the basics to sophistication”. It’s a 6-hour workshop that will cover all aspects of monoprinting: one colour and various colour pulls, working with masks and stencils, layers, bands of colour and a lot more. This time it will be on fabric and on paper – I work mostly with tissue paper and deli paper to create nice fodder for collage and sketchbook work. I invite you to join me. Even if you’ve never used a gelli plate, you’ll find lots of information, and time to play and get used to working with acrylics. I hope you’ll be able to join me. It’s on Friday, June 24th at 10:00 a.m. Mountain.

On Saturday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. Mountain, I will be teaching a 3-hour PowerPoint demo called “Merging images in PowerPoint”. In the 3-hour demo, I’ll be showing how to use PowerPoint, a slide show presentation program developed by Microsoft (available for PC and Mac) to merge photos into interesting shapes and compositions.   Also covered is how to make your own text to use in your work as well as graded backgrounds and so much more. A 50+ PDF workbook with step-by-step instructions and screenshots will be shared.

The possibilities are endless! And it’s very exciting to be able to create new images with your own photos: change colours, adjust contrast, and add filters. I hope to see you then.

I’ll be back with more news next week. Until then, I hope you enjoy the warmer days. Keep creating,

Ana

  • The Vulnerability of Must

We continue where we left off – and end the discussion with the fourth reason given most often for not choosing Must: Vulnerability – far scarier and spoken about much less, because choosing Must means you must confront some very big fears: what’s all this for?
