Quiltfest Virtual Schoolhouse

I am very excited to say that I will be teaching at the QuiltFest Virtual Schoolhouse on January 26-29, 2022.

Here are the details on the workshops I’ll be teaching:

Text on Textiles – Adding words to your work

On January 26, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, I will be teaching this class which is actually two workshops in one! Session one will be all about adding words to your work with free-motion quilting: learning spacing, legible vs, illegible, how to work around shapes and forms, etc., using as inspiration your favourite quote, lyrics or phrase. Session two will be a relaxed afternoon of making plates with letters using your own words, cut free-hand; then we will use those stamps with Paintstiks on fabric. Check it out! You will not want to miss it!

There are a couple of optional kits that you can order directly from my website. Kit one includes images printed on Transfer Artist Paper to use in your work during class. Some of the image options are below.

The second kit includes all materials needed to make the rubbing plates / stamps, plus some textures to use with the Paintstiks. Paintstiks in assorted colours are also available.

Introduction to Transfer Artist Paper – TAP

Introduction to Transfer Artist Paper is a 3-hour workshop on January 27th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. ET where you will learn tips and tricks to work with this wonderful transfer paper. The new formulation is better than ever as it doesn’t dry up which means you can print images and have them ready for work a few weeks down the road. You can also colour your images before transferring.

There is an optional kit with 2 sheets of images printed for your use and then one extra blank sheet for you to try with your own images. I also carry TAP in my store.

Monoprinting in Layers

And last but not least, one of my favourite workshops for all the possibilities that the technique offers. Monoprinting in Layers is a full-day workshop offered on January 29th, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.

In this workshop, you will learn how to use stencils and masks, textures, and all manner of different techniques to create one-of-a-kind prints that can be used in your work, or to create stand-alone pieces. I promise you will not be disappointed. Join me?

I offer an optional kit with some of the elements you will need in class to make some stamps to use on the gelli plate, plus some textures.

I hope to see you in one, two or three of the classes. To register, please visit www.quiltfest.com and go to QuiltFest Virtual.

In the meantime, keep creating!

Ana
