November is history and we are in the midst of getting ready for the holidays. Do you also wonder where the year has gone? I am NOT organized yet. I’ve been dealing with all kinds of stuff that was not fun. The latest in a series of issues has been discovering that nobody has been…
Since returning from a.ll the travel, teaching at Stitches Conference and Quilt Canada, I’ve found myself in a bit of a funny mood—caught between bursts of energy and waves of inertia. My brain feels full of ideas, but my body sometimes says, “Not today.” I’ve been following along with some Stitch Club workshops, sketching out…
After several weeks on the road, I’m finally back home — though just for a brief pause. I returned from a trip only to head out again a couple of days later to teach at the Saskatchewan Stitches Conference, held at the beautiful St. Peter’s College and Monastery. It was a full, rich week of…

What’s not to like? A couple of weeks ago, I joined a free workshop with Deb Cooper organized by TextileArtist.org. The workshop was all about stitched marks and dyeing experiments. Very well organized. A lovely workbook and an e-book with work by Deb plus a community and great instructions. Right up my alley. If you’ve…
On staving off sadness by adopting a practice of slow stitching.
