Embellished Rocks – November 19th, 2026 – 9:00 a.m. Mountain

If you follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook, you may have seen the results of my 100-day Project in 2022, when I returned to working with my beloved rocks. This time, however, I decided to embellish them with simple hand embroidery stitches.

Some are simple, some are more complex, but one thing is certain: each rock is unique. And once you start making them, they can become rather addictive!

In this three-hour online workshop via Zoom, I’ll show you how to create your own fabric rocks and appliqué them to a background fabric. Then, I’ll introduce you to a few of my favourite hand embroidery stitches and show you how to use them to embellish your rocks, adding texture, detail, and your own personal touch.

You don’t need an extensive collection of supplies to get started. A supply list will be provided ahead of class so you can gather what you need and prepare your workspace.

An optional kit is also available in my Store. It includes a selection of background fabrics — linen, cotton, and cotton-linen — along with fabrics for making your rocks and a spool of embroidery thread.  If you live in the US and are interested in purchasing a kit, send me an email first and I will give you options to purchase.

A recording of the workshop will also be available to purchase as an add-on to your class registration, so you can revisit the demonstrations and techniques after the live session.
