Happy New Year!

January 2nd already. I hope you ended 2022 in a positive note and started 2023 with a spring in your step. A new year, new possibilities. A chance to start anew. Fresh. Rejuvenated. A chance to think back on 2022 and shed some of the weight that’s not needed to leave room for new endeavours.
Are you a New Year’s resolutions person? Do you set up goals? Do you make lists? Do you take stock? Whatever kind of person you are, it is my hope that 2023 will prove to be a fantastic year full of creative endeavours, new opportunities to learn and grow in your art, new ways to grow in your personal life.
I started the year thinking about teaching, classes, videos and samples :) I have a few ideas for new workshops that I hope you’ll find interesting. Is there anything you’ve seem me show or talk about that you’d be interested in? I’m always curious to know what my readers think. Leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.
And talking about teaching and learning, there’s still time to register for the January workshops: 2 PowerPoint demos where I’ll share my screen and show you, first, how to merge photos to create unique images to use in your work, and second, how to create lettering and interesting backgrounds that match your images. Even if you do not have PowerPoint – because you work on a Mac – you can still take the workshop and then decide whether you need to get the program. You can purchase PowerPoint for Mac on a subscription basis, and even, I believe, get a free trial run. I guarantee you’ll find the demos interesting. You will also get a step-by-step instruction booklet. January 9th and 11th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Mountain time. 2-hour demo workshops.

Another workshop is on creating Embellished Rocks. If you’ve been following along on Instagram and Facebook, you may remember my rocks from early on in the year. One rock per day for about 100 days. Embellished with different stitches. You don’t need a lot of supplies for this class, and I bet you have everything you need at hand. You will get written instructions for you to refer to and a booklet with different stitches and examples of each. It’s a great project for road trips, plane trips, and for sitting by the pool or at the beach! January 19th at 9:00 a.m. Mountain. 3-hour workshop.

The last workshop I’m teaching this January is a monoprinting workshop where you’ll learn different techniques to create work in layers. You will end up with interesting backgrounds and finished pieces that you can incorporate into a quilt with borders and other blocks, or finish as a stand-alone. January 30th at 9:00 a.m Mountain – 3-hour workshop.

I hope you’ll be able to join me for one of these workshops. I’d love to have you in class. Regardless, whether you start with a workshop or continue working on a project you started in 2022, I hope that you have a wonderful year full of creative endeavours.
Until I write again, keep creating,
Ana
