Festival in Houston – classes still open

Are you planning on attending the International Quilt Festival in Houston this year?  Classes run from Monday, October 31st, to Sunday, November 6th.  I’d love to have you in one of my classes if you are still wondering what to take.

I am teaching a Free-motion machine quilting class on Monday, October 31st (yes, Halloween night – you are welcome to dress up!) on adding text to your quilts.  The class runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Janome America Inc. has provided machines for this class.  We will be using the Horizon Memory Craft 8200QCP.  I am very excited to give these machines a try!

Come and join me!  It is a fun class.

On Tuesday, I’m teaching the “Introduction to Fabric Painting” class.  It’s an all day class and when you leave, you will have the piece completely painted.  You will learn about blending, shading and highlighting.

On Wednesday, the full-day class is on Rubbings with Paintstiks.  You will learn different ways of making your own rubbing plates to use with Paintstiks on fabric.  In this class you get to play, play, play with materials to make rubbing plates.  It’s a relaxed and fun class.  Hope you can make it.  In the sample below, the circles have been rubbed using a plate with circles.

I hope to see you in Houston at some of my classes.  If not, drop by and say hi!  I’d love to meet you.

Thanks for visiting.  Keep quilting.

Ana
