Introduction to Fabric Painting – Spend a fun and relaxing day making rubbing plates using different methods and then use them on fabric with Paintstiks. Beware—they are addictive!
The circles on this small piece have been done by rubbing circles with different metallic paintstiks. In case you are wondering, the birds were photo transferred. You can learn to do this by taking my class on Thursday morning. See information below.
The kit fee covers a lot of the supplies. You only need to bring the fabric and some easy to get supplies, like a rotary cutter, mat and ruler, etc. Supply lists are included after the class description.
Class No. 435 – Thursday, November 3rd – 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Introduction to Transfer Artist Paper (TAP) – Use Transfer Artist Paper (TAP) to add images, lettering, etc. to your work. Several techniques will be shown and the class will cover a simple way to edit images to use on layering techniques.
The kit fee includes the printed TAP paper for your use, and some other supplies. Supply lists are included after the class description.
Class No. 471 – Thursday, November 3rd – 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Mixed Media Forum – See what this exciting event is all about! Six of the top mixed-media artists from the Quilt Festival faculty will present this focus, coordinated by Marlene Glickman. Each will give a digital presentation or show-and-tell of her particular expertise. Then, you can spend 15 minutes with each artist as they demonstrate the topics listed below.
Go home with a handout from each designer, new ideas, information on products and processes, and lots of enthusiasm.
I will be demonstrating Inktense Pencils on Fabric working on both dry and wet fabric using fabric medium to make the colors permanent.
I hope to see you in my classes. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
In the meantime, I’m off to work on some new samples. Drop me a comment or two and let me know what you’d like to see me teach next time, if anything different; or more of the same if you can’t make it this year. I always love to hear from you.
Keep quilting!
